Assetas exists because the people who ran physical operations and the people who kept them compliant were never given software that spoke to both. We've spent our careers on one side of that divide.
Now we're closing it.
ABOUT ASSETAS
Where field experience meets the platform we built to fix it.
THE PROBLEM
Everyone owns one corner of Operational Excellence.
Asset management systems don't understand regulation. Compliance software doesn't understand operations. And almost nothing was built for the deskless worker standing at the wellhead, the pump station, or the treatment plant — the person actually generating the data everyone downstream depends on.
That gap isn't a minor inefficiency. Three problems, usually treated separately, are actually one problem: most companies don't have a reliable record of what they own, most enterprise software wasn't built for the workforce that maintains it, and pollution control is fundamentally an asset-control problem — not a reporting exercise bolted on after the fact.
Built by people who did this work before they wrote software for it.
Our story
Before Assetas, our team spent two decades building and running environmental compliance programs for the oil & gas industry — work that put us inside 40 of the top 100 U.S. oil & gas companies, submitting roughly one in every five greenhouse gas reports filed to the US EPA for the sector, and eventually operating in Canada and Australia as well.
That work taught us something the software industry kept getting wrong: you cannot bolt compliance onto operations after the fact, and you cannot digitize a deskless workforce with tools designed for a desk. So when we set out to build Assetas, starting in 2017, we built it the other way around — one data model, live from the point of field capture, that operations and compliance both draw from instead of reconciling against each other.
Today that's 25 vertically integrated modules covering asset management, field mobility, and regulatory compliance, with AI woven through the platform rather than added on top of it — because AI is only as good as the record underneath it, and we've spent our careers building that record.
Problems worth solving
We like the hard problems.
Assetas is a software company, but the problems that drew us here aren't software problems first. They're physical, regulated, and consequential — the kind where better records and better fieldwork actually change the outcome.
Pollution management
Emissions and environmental risk are controlled at the asset, not in a spreadsheet after the fact. We think pollution management is an operations problem, and we built Assetas to treat it like one.
Responsible energy production
The modern economy runs on energy that has to be produced, moved, and accounted for responsibly. We build the systems that make that accountability possible at the asset level, not just on paper.
How we work
A few things we don't compromise on.
Built for what's regulated
Oil & gas, defense, municipalities, and infrastructure carry real stakes. We design for that from the start.
One shared truth
Operations and compliance draw from one data model, because they were never actually two problems.
Data is a strategic asset
Every photo, reading and work order carries value. It must be leveraged for immediate and lasting advantage.
The field comes first
If a technician can't use it standing at the asset, offline, in the weather, it doesn't ship.
HOW WE THINK
Clients, not customers.
We think of our users as clients, not customers — a distinction that shapes how we build, sell, and support. A customer is a transaction, closed and moved on from. A client is a relationship we're accountable to and strengthen in mutual trust.
That's not a slogan.

life at assetas
We like to get out of the office together.
Building for people who work outdoors, in plants, and in the field means we try not to spend all our own time behind a desk either. A few of the trips and traditions worth a photo — real ones to come.
